A Must Read for All Alumni!!! |

The Behrend Sig Tau Alumni Association has since it’s inception annually collected "dues". These dues are collected to finance operations of the association. The costs of operations to this point have been rather basic, such as administrative costs of mailing and website hosting. If financial viable, the association can also use dues to fund parties, award scholarships, and provide major gifts to the school and chapter. With the exception of a few provisos spelled out in the Alumni Associations incorporation, these dues can be used in whatever manner the association deems necessary.
It is my belief that money the association receives from house rent and parlor is to be only used for house related items, and therefore we as an organization must fund our own activities. It is therefore necessary for the Alumni Association to annually solicit money to ensure the organizations future. The amount of money that is annually received will dictate what activities and directions the association shall undertake.
In the past, our attempts to collect annual dues have been limited to the grapevine method of word-of-mouth, combined with some sporadic e-mailing. This limits responses to a few individuals, far less than what would be considered widespread participation. In these situations, generally the financial burden falls onto the few people who make an effort to stay informed and take the time to actually make out and mail a check.
This isn’t to say that the majority of us are lazy cheapskates. Rather, it’s simply a matter of everyone having busy lives and not enough time in the day to search out information concerning Sigma Tau Gamma at Behrend College. Once we’re able to streamline the flow of information through a single universal channel, I believe we will finally be in a position to begin operating as the organization that was envisioned years ago.
I believe the website you are currently visiting will be the central platform for all communications. It is my hope that over the next few months the silent majority of Behrend Sig Tau’s will sign onto the website, thereby creating an accurate database of addresses and other pertinent information. Once this happens, we will then be able to effectively undertake a ‘dues drive’ that will involve the entire Alumni Association, and not just the usual small pockets of supporters.
Sometime later this year we will have an organized dues and donations drive. For now though, I ask everyone to do what you can to funnel as many alumni to the website. The more alumni we have signed onto the website, the more successful we will be at raising money and the stronger the organization will be.
Fraternally,
Jeff Leczo

100 members to the site ....and growing? Ever since reading the article by Mr. Leczo, there seems to be in in-flow of members. Every Alumni should read this article.
Tell just one fellow alumni about the site. They'll do the rest.
Granted I'm not the most influencial speaker or writer, but just tell one alumni to check out the site. And to read this article.
In Fraternal name,
Bubba Gump
